Learn more about the National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife program. Why are backyard habitats important? How can you improve your backyard or community space, and what steps could you take to certify that space? Let images of beautiful native plants and habitat gardens inspire you to provide food, water, cover, and places for wildlife to raise their young. Plus, we will share some critter-friendly gardening practices that you can start using today.

About Lori:
Lori Athey is the Habitat Outreach Coordinator for the Delaware Nature Society where she monitors conserved natural areas and works with hundreds of homeowners through the backyard habitat program in Delaware. A Registered Landscape Architect, she has 25 years of experience in garden design and installation, and working with homeowners, communities and governments in Delaware on gardening for wildlife and environmental issues.
